Twinings Steamed Green Teas
As part of a small team at Brand Opus, I was briefed to design the packaging for a range of Steamed Green Teas. It was a new product, but would sit alongside the range of standard green teas. The design was to communicate the authentic Chinese origin and the distinctive smooth taste that elevates it from the standard range.
My concept of the Dragon enveloping the lake was chosen. It tells the story of the tea’s origin in West Lake in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province and features the Dragon boat that resides there. The Steam Dragon is smooth, layered with coloured steam of the flavour, evoking the smooth taste of the tea. I developed the design around the pack, designing both back of pack and inside the pack as well as the individual envelopes that contain each tea bag.
As it was a small range of 4 SKUs and my design was chosen, I was heavily involved in the decision making for this design. I designed and crafted the illustration, which had minor retouching ahead of artwork. I then oversaw the design through to artwork.
